Sensors for use with the CarieScan PRO™ are supplied as sterile single patient use disposables. They are available in packs of 40 sensors (Reorder Code CS-OCC-40). Each box contains 2 trays with 20 sensors and 2 lip hooks each. These sensors enables measurement of decay on both occlusal and smooth surfaces of the tooth.

The collar should be pushed onto the PRO (locates with a "click").




1. Lift the instruction card to reveal the peelable sensor packaging.

2. Peel back a tab to open a sensor compartment, revealing the sensor tip.
3. With the sensor tray facing towards you, position the PRO with the LCD facing away from you and the collar pointing downwards.
   
4. Push the PRO onto the exposed sensor until you hear a click.
5. The sensor is now connected to the PRO.
6. Pull the assembly out of the packaging.
   
7. Apply a cross infection barrier.
8. After use, the sensor should be removed from the PRO:

• With the LCD facing towards you, pull back the collar
  
  and twist it in the direction of the arrow on the collar.
  
  This will detach the sensor.
  
  
• The sensor can be disposed of straight into your contaminated or sharps waste without touching the sensor.
• Clean the PRO, collar and cable with alcohol based wipes ready for the next use.

The sensor is single patient use only and should be disposed of in the ’sharps’ waste stream after patient use. The sensor ejection system on the CarieScan PRO Collar allows the sensor to be disposed of without handling.
