CarieScan is a Dundee based manufacturer of medical devices, primarily directed at the dental market, as part of the expansion of the business we are looking for a career minded person to fulfil the role of Head of Manufacturing Development to support the business growth.

Candidates will have experience in manufacturing and design within an electro / mechanical environment, involved in tool and part manufacturing both metal and plastic, from prototype to volume production.

Experience in Lean manufacturing, with demonstrated evidence of success and sustainability is an essential requirement.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Driving cost reduction through the introduction of improved manufacturing processes.
• Review and implementation of new product part design.
• Planning and establishing engineering schedules.
• Sustaining current process through interaction with the supply line.
• Ensure all Capital and Tooling spend is of the highest quality and most competitive price.
• Keeping up to date with the latest technology and latest techniques.
• Supporting quality requirements within the manufacturing process, driving the supply base to zero defects. Removing the cost of quality from the process.
• Preparing related budgetary requirements
• Working with the Director of Operations to ensure adherence to agreed plans enabling all approved activities within to be met within agreed timelines and budget limits.

Reporting to the Head of Quality & Regulatory Affairs, this is a new role which will assist in all areas of the Quality Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s documentation and records are controlled in accordance with ISO13485:2003, ISO 9001:2008 & FDA QSR to ensure that the business has up to date and accurate information at all times.  The role will also consist of some general administrative duties.
